Value in volunteers

Dunbar Homes is proud of our Volunteers, for many years now Dunbar Homes has both valued and respected the incredible role volunteers play in the success (or failure) or Aged Care Homes.

We have heard stories over the years of volunteers in some aged care homes being treated as a burden or "getting in the way of workers". 

The volunteer gives their time, whether that be as a Centrelink requirement of 15 hours, or purely as a way to remain connected to people and community, and to us at Dunbar Homes, every person who gives their time in this way is an intergral part of the Dunbar family.

From 1 to 1 activities, running group activities, going on trips, helping residents with shopping, and helping us to maintain the grounds, building and services such as linen delivery and supply refilling, we could not operate or manage to do the work we do without the volunteer team, and for that, we thank you all!
